On Wednesday afternoon, April 17 the Marshall County Drug Task Force assisted by offices from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, executed a search warrant at the Creekside Mobile Home Park near LaPaz.

During the investigation, officers located and arrested 32-year-old Kayla Baker who lives in the trailer park for outstanding warrants from Marshall, Miami, Wabash, and Fulton Counties.

Kayla Baker was also arrested on new charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana. She has no bond on the warrants and a $1,500 cash bond on the new charges.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
