Purdue Extension-Marshall County is offering a ServSafe Food Manager training and a ServSafe Food Handler training in Marshall County. The ServSafe Food Manager training is an eight-hour class and proctored exam that will be held on May 16, at 8:00 a.m. It satisfies Indiana requirements to become a Certified Food Protection manager. The ServSafe Food Handler training is a half-day training that includes a booklet and assessment. The ServSafe Food Handler training will be held on May 9, from 11:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ServSafe Food Handler satisfies training requirements for home-based vendors outlined in Indiana House Bill 1149. This program focuses on key aspects including basic food safety, personal hygiene, cross-contamination and allergens, time and temperature, and cleaning and sanitation.
