A driver from Hawaii was seriously injured in a crash at U.S. 31 and State Road 10 Wednesday afternoon.

On March 20, at approximately 12:25 p.m. the Marshall County Central Dispatch Center received a call regarding a two-vehicle collision with a semi-tractor trailer and a passenger car at the intersection of U.S. 31 and State Road 10. Emergency responders were informed by dispatch that the driver of the passenger car was entrapped in the 2022 Toyota Corolla.

Officers were able to determine that 85-year-old Barbara Kamrow of Hawaii was westbound on State Road 10 in the Toyota and failed to yield the right of way to northbound traffic.

A 2021 Peterbilt semi tractor-trailer, driven by 50-year-old Stephen Smith of Wisconsin was northbound on U.S. 31 and unable to avoid the collision with the Toyota.

Barbara Kamrow was flown by MedFlight with several body injuries although she was in stable condition. The driver of the semi-tractor trailer told officers he was not injured.
