Drivers who use Hoham Drive on the north side of Plymouth will need to find an alternative route beginning on Monday.

During this week’s Board of Public Works and Safety meeting, City Engineer Dan Sellers told members and the public that reconstruction will begin on March 18th, causing the long-term closure of Hoham Drive.

The engineer said Milestone Contractors will shut down the street and begin the new storm sewer construction and water main work initially.

When asked about a timeline for the work, Sellers said the contractor was very non-committal on releasing details.  The city engineer reminded the Board of Public Works & Safety members that work NIPSCO needed to complete last year didn’t get completed on time causing a big delay in the projects.  He estimated the completion of this project in August or September based on the contractor’s comments at the meeting.

The City Engineer said there will also be some closures of Michigan Street and Milestone will notify businesses and the city prior to that closure.
