City police officers arrested an Illinois man after he was stopped for speeding and having no lights on.

Sunday evening, March 10th, just after 8 Officer Fisher conducted a traffic stop at U.S. 30 and Oak Drive after he saw a vehicle speeding with no lights on.

During the investigation, the driver was identified as Juan Sanroman-Duron, 42, of Lyons, IL.

Officer Fisher determined that Duron didn’t have a driver’s license.  He was arrested and transported to Marshall County Jail and booked in for operator never licensed.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
