Allen Ray Heist, 65, of Argos passed away at home in the loving care of his family. He was born on February 19, 1959 to Robert Heist and Allene Alexander in Gary, IN.

Allen would marry Sharon Carpenter in 1977 at the County Line Church in Nappanee. They met in downtown Plymouth and were able to attend Allen’s Senior Prom together as a married couple. They raised three beautiful daughters together: Kristol, Jennifer, and Alicia.

Working hard as a roofer for most of his life with Johnny’s Roofing, Allen spent the last 6 years working at Banfich Furniture as a delivery driver. Allen also served his country in the United States Army.

Allen will be deeply missed by his family for his ornery, playful personality – if he wasn’t picking on you, there was something wrong. His daughters knew him as one of the bravest men.

He loved his family immensely and was known for loving them hard. Allen was protective and taught his daughters how to stand their ground and fight for what they believe. His personality softened as his grandchildren came into his life.

Allen enjoyed making memories with his family; a few of which include the one and only mushroom hunting trip he went on and wearing steel-toe boots and jeans while kayaking. He also liked to gamble on the slot machines. One of his favorite things to do was sitting on his front porch blaring music and drinking his coffee. Watching the stars was one of his other favorite pastimes.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters, Jennifer (Chris) Keim and Alicia (James) Furnivall; grandchildren, Matthew, Cameron, Aubrey, Chase, Alysia, Mariah, Kaiden, Snowyn, Arayah, Christopher, and Xander; great-grandchildren, Aleeah, Addy, Austin, Krislynn, Cohen, Everyleigh, Khylan, and Brynlynn; along with 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Heist, mother, Allene Ligocki, step-father, Dave Ligocki; daughter, Kristol Miller; and 3 brothers.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 11AM at the Plymouth Moose Lodge, 1225 W. Jefferson Street, Plymouth, IN 46563.
