A Plymouth Police Officer observed a blue minivan run the stop sign at Harrison Street and Oak Drive on Tuesday, March 5th at approximately 6:10 in the afternoon.    

A traffic stop was initiated and the driver of the van, 62-year-old Jorge Figueroa-Espinoza of the 800 block of North 7th Street attempted to identify himself by another name and date of birth.

The identity of Figueroa-Espinoza was found later during the investigation of the traffic stop. 

The driver’s license status for Figueroa-Espinoza was found to be listed as a habitual traffic violator.  He was transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was lodged for habitual traffic violator as a level 5 felony and false informing as a class A misdemeanor. 

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
