At about 11:30 last Thursday night, February 29th officers with the Plymouth Police Department were advised of a stolen vehicle traveling south bound on Michigan Road from Veterans Parkway.

Officer Baker located the vehicle in the Culver’s parking lot and made contact with the driver who was identified as Chantana Hurstel, 42, of Granger.

Officers verified the vehicle was stolen and Chantana Hurstel was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail for unauthorized control of a motor vehicle.  She was held on a $1500 cash bond.  Her cash bond was paid Friday morning about 2:30 and she was released on bond.   

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
