The North Township Advisory Board and the LaPaz Town Council will meet in a joint meeting tonight at 6 p.m.

The two entities will be conducting a public hearing regarding the possible formation of a fire territory.  The meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 27, at 6:00 p.m. at the LaPaz Fire Station located at 411 South Michigan Street in LaPaz.

Emily Haskins, North Township Trustee said she’s worked hard to get word out about the meetings they’ve been holding.  Notices were in the newspaper as is required by law.  They’ve also sent out postcards to the 1,640 households in North Township.

The township trustee is working hard to make sure all citizens who could be impacted if a fire territory is created are notified of the public hearings.  She said she is using print, radio, mail, the community message board, and social media to get the word out.
