The Marshall County Treasurer’s Office presented a new agreement with L&D Mail Masters for the mailing of this year’s property tax statements.  Sandy Dodson told the commissioners the anticipated target date for the property tax statements is April 5th.  The commissioners approved the mailing agreement with L&D Mail Masters.

Also approved by the commissioners was the Indiana Department of Revenue Confidentiality Agreement that gives the treasurer a breakdown of which townships generate Innkeepers Tax in the county.

There was a request by the Treasurer’s Office to increase the Non-Sufficient-Funds fee improved by the county.  The commissioners approved the increase from $20 to $35 for checks presented to the county that can’t be cashed due to a shortage of funds in the bank.

The final item approved at the Commissioner’s meeting was a request to extend hours during tax collection season.  The Marshall County Treasurer’s Office will be open on Saturday, May 4th from 9 a.m. until noon for property tax payments.  They will also be open late on Thursday and Friday, May 9th and 10th from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.   It was also noted that additional security will be in the Treasurer’s Office during the tax collection period.
