Friday afternoon, February 16th, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was notified of a two-vehicle collision where one of the occupants was entrapped in one of the vehicles on State Road 8 west of Upas Road.

Marshall County Deputies and Plymouth Fire and EMS responded to the crash at 3:45.

One of the drivers involved in the collision, Phillip A. Dalton Sr., 59, of Knox, was entrapped and had to be extricated from the 2009 Kia he was driving. Plymouth Fire and EMS succeeded in extricating him and transported him to Memorial Hospital for multiple major injuries.

The other driver involved in the collision, Gerald A. Ewing, 81, of Culver, also sustained injury as a result of the collision. Gerald was driving a 2001 Ford and was transported to Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The collision is currently under investigation by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department. Evidence at the scene showed that controlled substance use may have been a factor in the collision.
