Daniel Ray Smith, 52, passed away at his home on February 17, 2024 in Plymouth, IN. Born on December 6, 1971 in Columbia City, son to Patricia and Ray Smith. Dan had a love for God and accepted Christ at an early age. He graduated from Columbia City High School in 1990. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing guitar, and spending time with family, especially his grandchild, Jasmine. His most precious time was spent with her. He collected toy hummers, knives, and guns. Dan was a hard worker and dedicated 20 years at AM General in Mishawaka, IN. On July 24, 1993, Dan wed Tina (Kumfer) Smith. Their union produced a wonderful family of 4 kids.
Dan is survived by his wife, Tina Smith; son: Jon Smith; Blake Smith; daughters: Mariah Smith; Taylor Smith; and one 9-year-old grandchild, Jasmine Thiry; his parents, Patricia and Ray Smith; his sister, Cindy Smith; half-sisters: Jamie Newkirk; Melanie Simmons; his niece, Andrea Robinson; and his nephew, Bradey Smith.
Dan was preceded in death by Manti Louise Ernest; Howard Ernest; John T. Kilbourne; Wilma Kilbourne; Ora and Dixie Smith; Victoria Kumfer.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church (9989 S State Road 9, Columbia City, IN 46725).
A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in St. Catherine of Alexandria Church Cemetery with Father Dale Bauman officiating.
