Marshall County Purdue Extension will be hosting a local workshop focused on food preservation. Individuals can attend to learn more about preserving food safely at home.

The workshop will be held on May 30th from 12:00 – 5:00 PM at the Unity Garden at 3701 Prast Blvd. in South Bend. The topic of the day will be “Boiling Water Bath Canning” and will focus on making salsa.

The workshop will feature a lecture, hands-on practice with equipment, and a take-home product made that day. Individuals will learn how to use boiling water bath canning equipment, the safety of canning, and be able to ask questions. The cost of the workshop is $30, and seats are limited to the first 8 participants.
