Purdue Educators, Karen Richey and Brieanna Slonaker will update members of the County Council during their meeting on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the second-floor meeting room of the County Building.

Sheriff Matt Hassel will present the 2024 Commissary Budget.  He is also seeking support for an additional appropriation request.  The county council will reaffirm its appointment of Karen Boland to the Culver-Union Township Library Board and make their appointment to the County Park & Recreation Board.

Council members will hear a report from the Job Classification and Compensation Subcommittee and consider two ordinances, one to amend a job description and the second to amend the 2024 Salary Ordinance.

Under the Consent Agenda are the requests for additional appropriations. It’s anticipated the council will approve appropriating $3.2 million into several line items in the Medical Benefits Shelf Insurance Fund.  They will also appropriate grant funds for the 2023 Election Security and the Problem-Solving Court.

Transfers requests are from Building & Grounds, Cum Bridge, and the Highway Department from the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund to the MVH Restricted Fund.  There are also 10 transfer requests from Marshall County Solid Waste.  The smallest transfer is $0.60 while the largest is $2,610.

The County Council meeting is streamed live from the Marshall County Government page.
