The Marshall County Sheriff’s Reserve Unit is hosting a Short Stack for a Tall Cause fundraiser on Saturday, February 17th with the help of the Plymouth Applebee’s.

The citizens of Marshall County are invited to support the volunteers who serve on the Sheriff’s Reserves by attending the Flapjacks Flak Jackets breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. for a donation of $10.  At least half of the ticket price will benefit the reserves and they hope to sell 300 tickets.

Funds raised from this event will help provide needed safety equipment for the reserve members.  An example of equipment needs is the purchase of 6 used radios for $18,000, and ballistics vests that typically run $600 to $800 each.

Reserve officers assist the sheriff as support staff with prisoner transport, security, accidents, and even traffic patrols.  There is no pay involved for those services.  The reserve officers can earn money if they work at an event such as the Blueberry Festival, a wedding, or a concert event.

You can purchase tickets for the Flapjacks for Flack Jackets from any Marshall County Sheriff Reserve member, at the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department or from their website at reserves.mcpd.us.  Tickets will also be available at the door.
