On Tuesday, January 23rd, at about 11:20 in the evening, Deputy Matt Geiger with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department came across a male sleeping in his vehicle on U.S. 30 at U.S. 31.

The man was identified as John L. Sodomire,43, from Hebron Indiana.

Mr. Sodomire had been drinking and stopped alongside the road. He was given field sobriety tests and a certified blood test. He had a blood alcohol level of .140%.

Sodomire was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He was held on a $1500 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
