County police officer arrests a Fort Wayne man for driving without a license on Christmas Day.   

At 7:40 Monday evening, Officer Johnson was dispatched to the area of U.S. 31 and U.S. 6 for a white pickup truck with only one headlight and no functional taillights.  Deputy Johnson caught up with the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.

It was found that the driver, 28-year-old Meliton Cenobio Garcia did not possess a valid license to operate.  The passenger in the vehicle did not have a license either.

Meliton Cenobio Garcia was transported to the Marshall County Jail and passenger was taken to the Pilot Truck Stop. Reichert and Knepp towed the vehicle back to their facility.

Meliton was booked and lodged for operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license as a Class C Misdemeanor with a cash bond of $105.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
