Wilbur “Bud” Ernest Cowger, 93 of Logansport, Indiana and formerly of Rochester passed away on December 23, 2023, at 3:55 p.m. at Woodbridge Health Center, Logansport. On October 16, 1930, in White County, Indiana he was born to Oscar “Fred” Cowger and Grace Tempelton (Clark) Cowger. Wilber had lived in Marshall and Fulton Counties most of his life.

On October 23, 1948, in Winamac, Indiana he married Viola Donna DePoy and together they shared the next 75 years.

Wilbur worked as an Iron Worked with Local #292, South Bend, Indiana. He was a member of the Building Trade and Iron Workers of South Bend, Indiana, Argos United Methodist Church, Argos, Indiana, and Community Club, Frost Proof, Florida.

Wilbur is survived by his Wife – Donna Cowger of Rochester, Indiana

Daughters – Beverly Cooley of Talma, Dianna Overmyer and husband Danni of Tippecanoe, Twyla Hartman and husband Mike of Argos, Melody Avery and husband Clyde of Plymouth, Indiana

Sons – Kelly Cowger of Talma,  and Tim Cowger of Rochester

30 Grandchildren and Numerous Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren

He is preceded in death by his Parents; Sons – Keith Cowger, Leon “Buddy” Cowger, Bill Cowger, Terry Cowger, Michael Cowger; a Granddaughter, a Grandson, and a Great-Great Granddaughter; 3 Brothers and 7 Sisters

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday December 28, 2023, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Argos United Methodist Church, 570 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Leon D. Pomeroy of the Argos United Methodist Church. Burial will take place at Winamac Memorial Garden Cemetery, Winamac, Indiana.
