Russell W. Young, 77, of Bremen, IN, passed away peacefully at 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 in his home.

Russell was born to Russell W. and Peggy (Keel) Young I, on October 17, 1946 in Oakridge, TN. He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Turkey and Vietnam during the Vietnam war. Russell received multiple medals including the Air Force Commendation Medal. Russell married Rebecca S. Hawley on May 4, 1979. Russell attended Nappanee Missionary Church. He worked for Maytag and then as Vice President of Thermador Waste King of California. Russell opened Young’s TV and Appliance of Plymouth in 1988 where he later retired. He enjoyed gun collecting, hunting, watching movies, hiking, camping, golfing, and rooting for his favorite team, Alabama Football. He was proud of his military service, but he was especially proud of his family.

Russell is survived by his wife, Rebecca Young of Bremen, IN; his son, James (Gina) Young of Plymouth, IN; his daughter, Sara (Nathan) Mahoney of Plymouth, IN; his grandchildren: Jakob Young; MaKayla Mahoney; Andrew Young; and Brogan Mahoney.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Russell W. Young I, Peggy J. Young, and his son, Richard W. Young.

The family will host a Celebration of Life January 7, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Young’s residence, 4881 Hawthorne Rd., Bremen, IN 46506.
