The Plymouth Fire Department added to their staff Monday evening with the swearing-in of John Lampkins.  John is the department’s newest employee for the fire department.  He was hired as a civilian paramedic pending his approval in the pension.  The chief said he’s completed his testing for it and they are just waiting for the results to send his application down for approval for the 77 pension.  Once approved he will move to the paramedic/firefighter position versus the civilian position.

Plymouth Clerk-Treasurer Lynn Gorski administrated the oath of office and John’s wife, Stacy pinned him.

Fire Chief Steve Holm regrettably reported receiving a letter of resignation.  He told the board he accepted a written resignation from civilian EMT, Travis McVicker and said his final date of employment will be December 25th.   Travis was sworn into office on February 13th of this year.

The chief was given approval to begin advertising for a replacement and plans to look for a paramedic/firefighter or a basic EMT/ firefighter for the vacant position.  Holm said he would give preference to a paramedic/firefighter if he finds a qualified candidate, but he wants to be open to applicants for either position.
