Deputy Johnson with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department arrested a South Whitley man on Friday, December 8th.

At 8:47 p.m. Deputy Johnson conducted a traffic stop on a black 2020 Nissan Altima for not having a functional license plate light.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, 51-year-old Daniel N. Ferrell of South Whitley was found to have a suspended driver’s license.

Lyon’s Wrecker Service took possession of the vehicle and Daniel was transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked for Driving While Suspended with a Prior.  This is a Class A Misdemeanor with a cash bond of $500.  Daniel Ferrell’s bond was posted at 10:15 Friday night and he was released on bond. 

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
