Last Monday, November 27th the Plymouth Common Council approved on the second and third readings an amendment to the City Code regarding fees for the Plymouth Ambulance Service.

After a review of the rates and charges used for the Plymouth Ambulance Service, the city administration, in consultation with the city’s medical billing consultant, the AccuMed Group has determined the need to increase some of the fees and rates.  The rates and charges were last adjusted in 2020. The change will reflect the actual cost of providing ambulance services to the community.

The cost of a refusal for Basic Life Support remains the same at $150 for city residents and $200 for non-residents.  The loaded-mile fee was increased from $17 a mile to $19 a mile.

The new fee for a Basic Life Support ambulance service will be $600 for city residents and $700 for non-residents.  Both fees increased by $150.

Advance Life Support was also increased by $150 for both residents and non-residents.  The new fees are $700 and $850.

Advanced Life Support II also increased $150 from $850 to $1,000 for residents and from $950 to $1,200 for non-residents.

The charge to other ambulance services for a paramedic assistance ambulance run remained the same at $225 for Advanced Life Support and $275 for Advanced Life Support II.

The new rates and charges go into effect on January 1st.
