Monday evening representatives of the Marshall County Blueberry Festival presented a check to the City of Plymouth during the Common Council meeting.
Festival president and City Councilman Duane Culp explained the donation. Blueberry Committee member Shannon King worked with Pinnacle Pickleball to conduct a pickleball tournament during the Labor Day festival.
Culp said instead of the Blueberry Festival taking their portion of the profits from the event, the board voted to take their share and donate it to the city for the pickleball court project.
The donation was $800 and will be pledged to the new pickleball courts proposed to be placed next to the tennis courts in Centennial Park.
Presenting the check to the Clerk-Treasurer Lynn Gorski was Culp, Vice President Rick Vancza, and Shannon King.
