Officer Baker with the Plymouth Police Department was advised that a subject with an active warrant was in the area of Lincoln Highway and Pioneer on Thursday, June 22nd in 5 p.m. hour.

The subject was identified as 44-year-old Ralph Reed of Highway 6 in Bremen.  He was later located at 503 West Jefferson.

While Officers were attempting to take Ralph Reed into custody a struggle ensued, causing minor injuries to one officer.

Reed was taken into custody and booked into the Marshall County Jail for his outstanding warrant, and new charges of Battery on a Public Safety Official and Resisting Law Enforcement. He is being held in the County Jail on a $10,750 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
