Plymouth Police and EMS were dispatched to the 1300 block of Holloway Drive in reference to a report of a domestic battery on Monday, May 22nd just before 6 a.m.

The police report states that 48-year-old Melissa Barnes of Plymouth had thrown a cell phone at a male victim causing injuries.

When Office Enyart arrived at the scene the male victim was standing outside with visible injuries. After further investigation, Melissa Barnes was transported to the Marshall County Jail where she was lodged for misdemeanor Domestic Battery.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
