Monday evening the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety opened bids for the 2023 Street Paving Projects.

City Attorney Sean Surrisi and Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt opened bids from three companies.

The high bid was from Milestone Contractors North Inc. from South Bend in the amount of $497,681.42.  The next bid came from E & B Paving Inc. from Rochester in the amount of $486,635.78 and the lowest bid was from Rieth Riley Construction Company Inc. in South Bend for $474,611.

Marquardt asked since it will be three weeks until the next city meeting to award the bid, and the delay they had because all parties didn’t receive the complete bid package that he be given approval to review the bids with the city attorney and award the work before the city meeting on June 12th.  The Street Superintendent said the bids were within his budget for the projects.

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety approved the request.

This year’s street projects include Hillcrest Avenue from Winding Oak Drive to Crimson Lane and Winding Oak Drive from Hillcrest to the dead end.  Also on the schedule are West Adams Street from the dead end to Beerenbrook Street, West Adams Street from Beerenbrook Street to North 5th Street, and West Adams Street from North 5th Street to 3rd Street.
