Racheal Filley, Community Outreach Director for the Marshall County Neighborhood Center is seeking the public’s assistance in preparing kids for Back To School in August.

Each year the Neighborhood Center provides school supplies for over 100 families in Marshall County.  While going back to school is supposed to be exciting and something kids can look forward to, for many families who use the Neighborhood Center for assistance if can be the opposite.  Filley said, “Many face insecurities in multiple areas of day-to-day life.  We try to help ease the burden for our families working hard to make ends meet.  We want to help the kids of our amazing community not feel that burden for the first day of school.”

On July 23rd from 3 to 5 p.m., the Neighborhood Center will host a back-to-school event at River Park Square.  They will be offering backpacks, school supplies, lunch, and free kids’ haircuts.

To make the Back-to-School event a success the Neighborhood Center needs the community’s help. They are accepting school supplies and monetary donations.  Donations can be dropped off at the Neighborhood Center at 402 West Garro Street in Plymouth Monday through Thursday from 9 to 4 and on Fridays from 9 to noon.
