Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Superior Construction Co, Inc. will change the work zone configuration on State Road 23/Eddy St over State Road 933/Lincolnway on or after Tuesday, May 23.

State Road 23 is currently reduced to one lane in each direction, with the southbound side converted to two-way traffic and several ramps closed at the interchanges with State Road 933 and Mishawaka Ave.

As work moves to phase three, the northbound side of State Road 23 will be converted to two-way traffic and southbound will be closed for construction. The ramp from southbound State Road 23 to westbound State Road 933 and the ramp from westbound Mishawaka Ave to southbound State Road 23 will both close on or after Thursday, May 25 due to the location of the work zone. The ramps previously closed will remain closed for the safety of the site workers and motoring public.

Motorists should be prepared for changing traffic patterns in the area as they adjust to the new traffic configuration. Traffic will be in this configuration through the rest of the project, which will be ongoing through late September.

INDOT encourages drivers to allow extra time when driving through this area and follow traffic directions carefully. Motorists should slow down, exercise caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones.
