The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety was expected to open bids for the 2023 Street Projects during their meeting Monday evening, but that bid opening was delayed.

City Attorney Sean Surrisi told members that they found out a couple of contractors did not receive the attachment with the plans for the project with their bid packets.

Surrisi explained that Indiana Code allows delaying the opening if the board makes a written determination that it is in the best interest of the city to delay the opening and that the date, time, and place of the scheduled reopening are announced at the originally scheduled opening.

The new bid opening for the 2023 Street Project will be at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 22nd during the next regularly scheduled Board of Public Works and Safety meeting in the Council Chambers of City Hall.

This year’s street projects include Hillcrest Avenue from Winding Oak Drive to Crimson Lane and Winding Oak Drive from Hillcrest to the dead end.  Also on the schedule are West Adams Street from the dead end to Beerenbrook Street, West Adams Street from Beerenbrook Street to North 5th Street, and West Adams Street from North 5th Street to 3rd Street. The project on West Monroe Street will be done from South Michigan Street to North Center Street and East Harrison Street will have improvements from North Michigan Street to Bailey Street.  Another street project will be made on Baker Street between Columbus Drive and Dora Lane and also on East LaPorte Street from Footbridge to Liberty Street.  Included in the 2023 Street Projects for this bid opening are Louisa Street from South Michigan Street to Miner Street, Ruth Street from Chester Street to South Michigan Street, and Bayless Street from Jackson Heights to Lemler Lane.
