Today, May 8th PHS Senior Michael Sheely committed his future academic and athletic career to Ripon College.

Ripon is a four-year college located in Ripon, Wisconsin. Michael chose Ripon because he felt a strong connection to the program, staff, and current players. The school has an amazing atmosphere that drew him into the support not only for academics but for athletics as well.

Michael is the son of Andy and Kathleen Sheely. Michael is also a part of the football, basketball, and golf teams. He also was part of the baseball program.

Michael plans to compete for the football team and double major in Finance and Business Management.

Ripon is a Division 3 School that competes in the MidWest Conference. Other schools include Beloit, Cornell, Grinnell, Illinois College, Knox, Lake Forest, Lawrence, and Monmouth.

Basketball Coach Joel Grindle said, “Michael is a product of hard work. He is an example of some that has dedicated himself in the classroom, weight room, and in athletics. I am very excited to see Michael’s hard work pay off and look forward to seeing him have continued success at Ripon and beyond.”

Baseball Coach Ryan Wolfe said, “Michael is a great kid and great competitor. It has been a pleasure to watch him compete in multiple sports here at PHS as well as excelling in the classroom. I want to thank Michael for the years he played baseball and wish him the best as he embarks on his future endeavors.”

PHS Football Coach Adam Handley said, “Michael is a fantastic young man and a tremendous athlete. Michael was asked to change positions multiple times and never complained! He always looked out for the teammates around him and made them better each day. He is an extremely hard worker in the classroom as well! Can’t wait to see him play at the next level and represent PHS.”
