Earlier this week, Shauna Fagan agreed to take on the leadership reins for the Plymouth High School volleyball program. Coach Fagan is a 2013 Rochester High School graduate where she was a multi-sport
athlete, lettering in both volleyball and track and field. She played an integral role in both team’s success
while there. She was a defensive specialist and leader for a volleyball team that won back to back
Sectional Championships in 2011 & 2012 and a Regional Championship 2012. Shauna also enjoyed success as a thrower on a Conference Championship Girls Track and Field team. Individually she placed
20th in the Indoor State Track and Field meet her senior year.

This will be Fagan’s first head coaching experience. She takes over for Jon Hutton who moved back into a Head Coaching role for the volleyball program at Tippecanoe Valley High School where he teaches. Coach
Hutton led the Pilgrims for the past 4 years and amassed a 75-48 record at Plymouth.

As a coach, Fagan returned back to Rochester and served for 6 years as a coach at multiple levels in both school and club organizations for the Zebras. Coach Fagan then moved on to Laville High School in 2019-2020 and served as the JV volleyball coach for a season. Most recently she has served as the Pilgrims JV coach for the past 2 years at Plymouth High School.

Coach Fagan had this to say about her promotion, “I am excited for the transition into this new role to work with PHS players, parents, and staff to establish a gritty, disciplined, team-first culture that will allow our athletes to find success on and off the volleyball court!”

Coach Fagan brings a passion for the sport of volleyball and most importantly a passion guiding and leading the young ladies who will be playing for her. She brings positivity and a high level of energy to each and every practice and match. The other thing that stands out with Coach Fagan when you watch her coach is high expectations and competitive grit. We are very excited for our players to learn and grow under Coach Fagan’s leadership. – Michael Delp PHS Athletic Director.

Plymouth Volleyball will start summer workouts in early June and the first day of official practice will be Monday July 30th. Coach Fagan and the Pilgrims will start their season by hosting the Lady Zebras on Saturday August 12th.
