Lion Shari Bloom and her student Brenna Blosser representing the BPA (Business Professionals of America) Club at Plymouth High School gave an informative presentation at the last meeting of the Plymouth Lions Club.  Brenna competed in regional and state competitions and qualified in both her events to attend the national leadership conference in Anaheim, California.  They both spoke about what BPA is and what is in store for them at this year’s national conference.

BPA is a competitive organization giving Purpose to Potential.  Each group or individual chooses two events to compete in out of six categories.  These categories include Finance, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Digital Communications, Management, Marketing and Communications, and Health and Administration.  After hearing their presentations, the Lions Club was proud to help sponsor both Lion Shari Bloom and Brenna Blosser with their exciting trip to Anaheim, California for the National Competition.

A new slate of officers was elected and will be installed at the annual picnic in June.  In addition, at the annual picnic, the scholarship winners will receive their scholarships.  This year the Club is offering the Ken Lukenbill Memorial Lions Club Scholarship in the amount of $1000 and two Plymouth Lions Club scholarships in the amount of $1000 each.  All recipients will be announced on Awards Day at Plymouth High School on Friday, May 19th.

The Lions Club would also like to invite everyone to their next two fundraisers.  On Saturday, May 6th, they will be holding a fundraiser from 11-2 at Centier Bank offering Ralph Smith’s Tenderloin and Fries dinner, and on Saturday, May 13th they will be accepting donations in honor of White Cane Day at Walmart.  These fundraisers allow the Club the ability to offer special services and scholarships for the community as they help others have a better life.

Let us remember the Mission Statement of Lions Club International: “To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace, and promote international understanding through Lions Clubs.’  As Lions, “We Serve.”  If you or anyone you know would like to join the Plymouth Lions Club, please contact any Lions Club member, or send your request to P.O.
