The April Open Mic at the Wild Rose Moon will be celebrating and honoring the best place in the Universe — Good Old Planet Earth! From 7-9 pm on Wednesday, April 19th, Open Mic performers are asked to bring ‘Earth Friendly’ songs, poems, and readings to share. Original work and/or covers of other artists’ work related to all things ‘earthy’ is strongly encouraged. There’s no place like home! Just like William Blake said, let’s be “Earth’s Answer,” and sing, shout, dance, and talk about the awesomeness of Mother Earth.

Host/Emcee Martina Samm RDN, LD will have free nutrition education handouts from previous NEON(Nutrition Education Outreach Night) presentations including the wildly popular Mediterranean Diet Series.  Also, she stated, “I will be more than happy to discuss any diet/lifestyle questions and concerns you may have”.

For those interested in performing at the Open Mic, just go to wildrosemoon.com, click on Programs/Open Mic/Learn More/Sign Up, or call 574-276-1185 — please leave a message as to the time you would like to play and your sound system needs. The set length is 15 minutes or less. Please time your material in advance. All ages and talent levels are welcome. This includes singers, songwriters, musicians, poets and poetry readers, lecturers, storytellers, stand-up comics, and all forms of dance and circus acts (just kidding).

Martina continued, “Please come and be a part of the audience, we love a full house and it’s an early night! Last month’s Open Mic was exceptional. The atmosphere is casual and there are delicious snacks and beverages to enjoy. We are an alcohol-free, family-friendly venue. Free-will donations are welcomed and appreciated.”
