Duke Tumatoe and the Power Trio return to Michiana this Saturday, April 15 when they take the stage at The REES Theatre in Plymouth, at 7:00 p.m.

Tumatoe, a self-taught guitarist who learned to play by watching Chicago’s blues legends has gigged with the greats, including Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley, B.B. King, Willie Dixon, Buddy Guy, John Fogerty, and George Thorogood.  He was also an original member of the early REO Speedwagon.

In 1969, Tumatoe founded Duke Tumatoe & The All-Star Frogs which disbanded in 1983.

Tumatoe’s songs are noted for their humor, explaining that “There are two elements of the blues. There’s the general intensity of the music…and an element of humor, some twist in the lyrics. It’s like a comedian turning something sad into something funny.”

He promises a good time with a little mischief and a lot of great music.

General admission is $20 or $40 for balcony seating with a meet & greet prior to the performance.   The Box office opens at 6:15 p.m.

Tickets are available at Fernbaugh’s Diamonds and Fine Jewelry in Plymouth, IN or at www.reestheatre.com .
