City Police arrested two individuals from outside Marshall County this week on warrants. 

On Sunday, April 2nd around 4:35 in the afternoon the Marshall County Central Dispatch Center was advised of an unwanted guest at the Economy Inn at 2535 N. Michigan Street in Plymouth.

Officer Ayala arrived on the scene and spoke to the caller and other parties involved. During his investigation, he discovered that 34-year-old Benjamin L. Mathia of South Bend had an active warrant through Marshall County and St. Joseph County.

Benjamin Mathia was then transported to Marshall County Jail and booked for the Failure to Appear Warrant and held with NO BOND.

Officer Emenhiser with the Plymouth Police Department arrested 31-year-old Shaylene Crane of Hanna at the Plymouth Police Department on Monday, April 3rd about 12:30 in the afternoon.   

Crane had four warrants for her arrest and was transported to the Marshall County Jail where she was held on misdemeanor warrants for theft.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
