There will now be four Republican candidates in the May Primary for Mayor of the City of Plymouth.

On Monday, January 30th, 47-year-old Richard “Rick” Cooper Jr. filed his paperwork in the Marshall County Clerk’s Office to run for Mayor of the City of Plymouth.

In a release sent to WTCA Cooper says he is a graduate of Plymouth High School and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marines.  He has been a husband and loving father to all his children, those by birth and those by marriage.  Cooper is a grandfather and says he is a loyal friend to many and a contributing member of the community.

In Rick Cooper’s statement he said, “There have been highs of success and lows of failures, and with each life opportunity I have learned.  I have learned that there is a better version of me that desires to help others, to serve others, and to lead others.  These experiences have allowed me to grow as a person and forged my will strong enough to make this decision.”

He closed his release saying, “So now I start this journey, with an open mind, open heart, and tenacity unmatched.  I hope to win your trust and respect and look forward to your vote this May.”
