The Indiana Department of Transportation announced Thursday the closure of State Road 17 at the railroad in Burr Oak.
NIPSCO crews will be working on State Road 17 between 15B Road and 15th Road which is 9 miles south of Plymouth. The work includes boring under the railroad and working in green space. If a road cut is needed, asphalt will be used to restore the road to INDOT specifications.
The INDOT detour for the project utilizes State Road 8 to State Road 10 and State Road 23.
This closure on State Road 17 should be completed by the end of January.
