Marianne Peters, Director of the Marshall County Solid Waste District Management told the Board of Director members that the district was been recognized with a state award.

Peters said they have been recognized at the 2022 State of Indiana “Friend of Conservation”. In January she will go to Indianapolis to receive the award at the annual conference of Indiana Soil & Water Conservation Districts. 

Solid Waste has been partnering with Soil and Water and has done several projects on their property on Walter Glaub Drive.  Peters highlighted several projects including the quarterly meeting of “Green Drinks”, the pollinator garden and the changes to the detention area mitigation area, the demonstration rain garden, worm composting, and rain barrels.
