On December 12th the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) determined that the petition submitted by Marshall County to establish a Regional Sewer District has been approved. 

The order states that a sufficient petition had been filed by the county and that they conducted a public hearing on the petition.  The information submitted had been determined to be enough to order an IDEM hearing which was held in the county for residents to attend and participate in. 

Having reviewed the findings of fact and the recommendation of the hearing officer, the commissioner of IDEM approved the findings and stated in the order, “It is now ordered by the commissioner that the Marshall County Regional Sewer District be established as an independent municipal corporation in Marshall County.
