Mary G. Probst, age 99, of Plymouth, IN, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022 in Miller’s Merry Manor Assisted Living of Plymouth, IN.

Mary was born to Charles and Elizabeth (Ball) Gegner on May 16, 1923 in Hillsboro, IN. She came to Plymouth, IN in 1949 from Waynetown, IN. She married Ernest G. Probst on January 22, 1943 and he preceded her in death on January 8, 2003. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church of Plymouth, IN, as well as a member of the Associate Chapter of Tri Kappa and a member of the Tyra Constance Guild. She delivered Meals on Wheels, regularly read to a resident at Millers Merry Manor, and worked on all Plymouth elections. She enjoyed collecting spoons, bird houses, and miniature glass baskets, she was a fervent Chicago Cubs fan, was known for her sense of humor and being the nicest person on Earth.

Mary is survived by her children: Janet Probst (Karen Wells) of Berkeley, CA; and James Probst (Nancy Beadle) of Bozeman, MT; her daughter-in-law, Judy Probst of Tucson, AZ; and her grandchildren: Matthew Probst and Elizabeth Probst.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Ernie; her son, Ron Probst; her parents, Charles and Elizabeth Gegner; her 5 sisters, and her 4 brothers.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563).

Funeral will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563) with Lay Minister Cindy Flagg presiding.

Burial will follow at New Oak Hill Cemetery (Plymouth, IN).
