PLYMOUTH- Curtis William Peacock, 94, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, with family by his side.

Born in Scott County, Indiana on November 29, 1928, Curtis was the son of Manville and Mayme (Davis) Peacock. After graduating high school, he attended God’s Bible School and College in Cincinnati and furthered his education in Marion, Indiana, before joining the ministry of the Wesleyan Church.

Curtis married Patricia Ruth Bye on June 12, 1948, in Portland, Indiana. The couple were blessed with ten children.

Curtis served as a minister for many congregations in Michigan.  He then returned to Indiana, where he served as pastor of the Tyner Wesleyan Church for twelve years before making Plymouth home. Curtis was an active member of the Plymouth Wesleyan Church, where he served as an assistant minister for two years before his retirement.

Curtis helped create the Tyner Volunteer Fire Department and served as a volunteer firefighter for several years, before retiring from that role at age 60.

Curtis is survived by his children: Sheryl Gorden, Steven (Carol) Peacock, Rebecca (Sam) Maddox, David Peacock, Jim (Lanette) Peacock, Patricia Ganshorn, Barbara (Pat) Franklin and son-in-law Ernie Parker; his siblings: Sue (Orville) Payne, Eunice (Tom) Lacey, Phillip (Judy) Peacock, Rita Smith, and Carolyn (Eugene) Myers; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Patricia in 2005; his parents; several siblings; his daughters, Brenda Klemons and Pamela Parker, and son Daniel Peacock.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022, from 11-1 p.m. at Plymouth Wesleyan Church, 11203 Michigan Road, Plymouth. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ed Friberg officiating.

Burial will be in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
