Last week the Culver Board of Zoning Appeals approved a variance request from William Londrey at 443 North Liberty Street.

The variance of development standard request was to allow for the renovation of the home including a rear yard deck for which the petitioner wanted to move the stairs of the deck to the other side causing a 5-yard side-yard setback instead of the standard 10-foot setback.

Mr. Londrey said those most impacted would be the neighbors across the alley and they sent a letter of support for the variance.

The project will consist of replacing the current deck which will increase in size slightly but won’t be any closer to the alley.

BZA member Dan Osborn said he grew up in the neighborhood and confirmed that the alley has very little traffic.

There were no comments from any neighbors about the request.

The Culver BZA unanimously approved the variance request.  Members of the Culver BZA are Dan Adams President, John Crist Secretary, Barry McManaway, Andrew Melshen, and Dan Osborn.
