As a courtesy to the citizens of Marshall County, Sheriff Matt Hassel will be making the monthly activity report available to the media in hopes they will share it with the public.

The top ten offenses for individuals being lodged in the Marshall County Jail in August were:

Failure to Appear (23)

Possession of Marijuana (14)

Operating While Intoxicated (12)

Resisting Law Enforcement (9)

Possession of Methamphetamine (9)

Dealing in a Controlled Substance/Meth (9)

Probation Violation (8)

Possession of a Controlled Substance (7)

Operator Never Licensed (6) and

Possession of a Syringe (5)

There were a total of 103 people booked into the Marshall County Jail in August by various police agencies: Bourbon (3), Bremen (4), Culver (1), Indiana State Police (4) with (2) No Judicial Reviews, Plymouth (18) with (2) No Judicial reviews and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department (84) with (1) No Judicial Review. 

The average daily population during August was 145.7 and there were a total of 1,366 total active warrants. 

County Police responded to a total of 52 accidents.  There were 40 property damage accidents, 11 personal injury accidents, and 1 fatality.  County Police issued 41 warnings and citations and completed 70 case reports last month.

Marshall County Central Dispatch handled 3,450 non-emergency and administration calls and 1,462 calls to 911 for a total of 4,912 calls.  99.32% of the 911 calls were answered in less than 15 seconds.
