E. Ruth Hart, age 93 of Plymouth, IN, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 12:30 a.m. in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home of Plymouth, IN.

E. Ruth was born to Joseph and Rosa (Manes) MacLain on May 20, 1929 in Kewanna, IN. She was a resident of the area most of her life and attended Kewanna High School. She married Roy Beedy on July 1, 1967 and he preceded her in death on November 25, 1988. She then married James Hart on December 1, 1990 and he preceded her in death on January 28, 2022. She previously attended Sharon Pilgrim Holiness Church in Kewanna, IN. She worked at Harris Garment Factory then worked at Hart Schaffner & Marx clothing manufacturing in Rochester, IN before retiring from R D Mart as a food preparer.  She loved gardening, canning, reading, fishing, chickens, her collection of clothes, and processing black walnuts.

E. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Virginia “Gin” Ruth and Gary Sullivan of Rochester, IN; her sons, Harold “Butch” and Karen Clevenger of Walkerton, IN; James and Linda Mullen Clevenger of Bremen, IN; her 10 grandchildren; her 21 great-grandchildren; her 15 great-great grandchildren; her sister, Emily Brown of Plymouth, IN; her stepdaughter, Tonya Pletcher of Etna Green, IN; stepsons, James Hart, Jr. of Culver IN; and Rick Hart of Culver, IN.

E. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rosa MacLain; her husbands: Roy Beedy and James Hart; her son, Larry Clevenger; 8 sisters; 3 brothers; her stepson, David Hart; and her daughter-in-law, Starrene.

Visitation service will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563).

Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563) with Pastor Kristin Harp presiding.

Burial will follow at New Oak Hill Cemetery (1300 Chester St., Plymouth, IN 46563).
