On Saturday, August 13th, right after 11 P.M. an officer of the Marshall County Police Department performed a traffic stop on U.S. 31 north, near 14C Road.

During the traffic stop, a probable cause search was conducted on the vehicle. During the search suspected marijuana and paraphernalia were located in the vehicle. During a subsequent field sobriety test, probable cause was found that the driver, David Beeler age 19 of South Bend, had operated a vehicle while intoxicated.

After a certified chemical test, David Beeler was lodged at the Marshall County Jail for Operating While Intoxicated-Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana.  He was released Sunday evening at 5:30 after posting a cash bond.
