Deputy Ryan Hollopeter with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigated a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon, August 8th at U.S. 31 and 11th Road.

The crash happened at about 4:40 when a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta being driven by 18-year-old Mary Miller of Goshen failed to yield the right-of-way to a northbound 2004 F-150 driven by 76-year-old Verne Searer of Elkhart.

Officer Hollopeter’s report indicates that Miller was attempting to turn left on 11th Road from the southbound lanes of U.S. 31 and pulled into the path of Verne Searer.  The two vehicles collided in a right-angle type of collision.

Mary Miller was transported by Plymouth EMS to Saint Joseph Hospital in Plymouth for a complaint of pain and possible injury.  Verne Searer complained of pain but refused transport by EMS.
