The Marshall County Health Department (MCHD) released its recommendations for all schools in Marshall County for the school year 2022-2023 pertaining to COVID-19.

Parents, caregivers, or guardians are encouraged to monitor their children for symptoms of infectious illness every day BEFORE they leave for school through home-based symptom screening.

The Marshall County Health Department does NOT recommend quarantine or contact tracing in schools.

When it comes to student and staff safety, wearing a mask is a personal choice.

Individuals who do test positive for COVID-19 should isolate for 5 days at home.   They may return to school on day 6 if symptoms are improving or resolved.  A mask must be worn for the next days 6-10.

The Marshall County Health Department will continue to work with school administrators to monitor for any cluster cases of COVID-19 in the school setting and offer guidance during the school year.
