Tuesday afternoon August 2nd at 4:40 emergency responders were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at U.S. 31 and State Road 10.

A 2016 Nissan Titan driven by 33-year-old Dorcus C. Stump of Nappanee was traveling eastbound on State Road 10 near the intersection with U.S. 31.

The second vehicle, a 2004 Ford F-15 driven by 68-year-old Kenneth Michels of Mishawaka was traveling northbound on U.S. 31 at the intersection with State Road 10.

Deputy Hollopeter’s report indicates that Stump, the driver of the Nissan failed to yield the right of way to the northbound pickup truck. Both vehicles collided in a right-angle type of collision and left the roadway.

Dorcus Stump, Keith Michels, and a passenger in the pickup complained of pain and were transported by EMS for further assessment by medical personnel.
