Media in Northern Indiana have announced that 58-year-old U.S Congresswoman Jackie Walorski was killed this afternoon in a two-vehicle crash near Nappanee. Three others also perished in the accident.
The head-on crash happened on Indiana 19 south of State Road 119 at 12:32 p.m.
Initial reports say the vehicle Walorski was traveling in was southbound. Along with Walorski in the vehicle were 27-year-old Zachery Potts of Mishawaka and 28-year-old Emma Thomson of Washington D.C. who was her Communication Director.
The northbound vehicle was driven by 56-year-old Edith Schmucker of Nappanee who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
