U.S. Representative Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) released the following statement after the House Ways and Means Committee advanced the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act.

“Reforming prior authorization requirements for Medicare Advantage will streamline seniors’ access to quality and affordable health care. The Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act will not only help American seniors get care faster, but also cut through red tape and allow health care professionals to devote more time to patient care. By bringing Medicare Advantage requirements into the 21st century, we can eliminate obstacles to care, end dreaded fax and phone tag, and deliver real results for seniors. I urge Speaker Pelosi to bring the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act to the House Floor for a vote as soon as possible.”

Congresswoman Walorski, a senior member of the Ways and Means Committee, is a co-sponsor of the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act of 2022. This legislation passed unanimously out of the committee during today’s markup.

Walorski represents the 2nd Congressional District of Indiana, serving as a member of the House Ways and Means Committee and the Ranking Member of the House Ethics Committee.
